How to find and use wire transfer instructions

If you are paying by wire transfer, you will receive specific instructions for sending your wire. Here is how to use them.

What Are Wire Instructions?

Wire instructions are a document containing all the bank details and reference information you need to send a wire transfer for your investment. When you choose wire as your funding source, the platform generates wire instructions specific to your investment and the SPV's bank account.

Where to Find Wire Instructions

  • Action banner — If your investment is awaiting a wire, a prominent banner appears on your investment detail page
  • Documents section — On your investment detail page, wire instructions appear as a downloadable document
  • Email — After you confirm a wire-funded investment, you receive an email with a link to view your instructions in the portal

What the Instructions Include

Your wire instructions will contain:

Routing number (ABA)The bank's routing number for domestic wire transfers
Account numberThe specific account number for the SPV
Beneficiary nameThe legal name of the SPV entity receiving the funds

How to Use Them

Download or view

Get your wire instructions from the investment detail page or the email link.

Log in to your bank

Go to your bank's website or mobile app, or visit a branch.

Start a new wire transfer

Look for "Wire Transfer" or "Send a Wire" in your bank's transfer options.

Enter the details exactly

Copy the bank name, routing number, account number, and beneficiary name precisely from your wire instructions.

Include the reference number

Enter the reference number in the memo field. This is how we identify your wire.

Send the wire

Review everything one more time, then submit.

Important Tips

Double-check all numbers before sending. An incorrect routing or account number can send your money to the wrong place, which is very difficult to reverse.

Always include the reference number. Without it, the platform may not be able to automatically match your wire, causing delays.

  • Send the exact amount — Wire the exact dollar amount shown in your instructions
  • Your bank may charge a fee — Most banks charge $15-$30 for outgoing domestic wires. This is your bank's fee, not a Play Money fee
  • Contact support if anything looks wrong — Reach out before sending the wire if anything seems incorrect

Common Questions

How long until my wire is confirmed? Domestic wires typically arrive within 1 to 2 business days. Once matched, your investment status will update automatically. If it has been more than 3 business days, contact support.

What if I forgot to include the reference number? Contact support as soon as possible with your wire confirmation details. The team can manually match your wire, but this may take additional time.

Can I send the wire from a different bank than my linked account? Yes. Wire transfers are independent of your linked bank account. You can send from any bank account you have access to.

Can I send the wire in a currency other than USD? All wire instructions are denominated in U.S. dollars. If sending from an international bank, ensure the wire is sent in USD.
