If you choose to pay by wire transfer, you will need to send the wire from your bank using the instructions provided by Play Money.
When to Use a Wire Transfer
Wire transfers are a good choice when:
- You are investing a larger amount and prefer to send the funds directly
- Your bank does not support Plaid for ACH linking
- You prefer the security of sending a wire from your own bank
- The deal requires a wire transfer
How It Works

Select wire transfer as your funding source and complete the investment wizard.
Receive wire instructions
The platform provides detailed instructions — destination bank account number, routing number, and a unique reference number for your investment.
Send the wire from your bank
Log in to your bank's website or visit a branch, and initiate a wire transfer using the exact details provided.
Platform confirms receipt
Once the wire arrives and is matched to your investment, your status updates.
Investment is funded
After full payment is confirmed, your investment is fully funded.
Finding Your Wire Instructions
You can find your wire instructions in several places:
- Action banner — If your investment is awaiting a wire, an action banner appears on your investment detail page
- Documents section — Wire instructions are available as a downloadable PDF in the Documents section
- Email — You will receive an email with a link to view your wire instructions after confirming
Important Details
Double-check all numbers before sending! An incorrect routing or account number can send your money to the wrong place, which is very difficult to reverse.
Include the reference number
Every wire instruction includes a unique reference number. Include this in the memo field — it is how we match your wire to your investment.
Send the exact amount
Wire the exact dollar amount shown in your instructions. A different amount may delay matching.
Bank fees apply
Your bank may charge $15-$30 for outgoing wires. This is your bank's fee, separate from investment fees.
Verify account details
Ensure the routing and account numbers match exactly what is shown in your wire instructions.

Your investment status will update to "Payment Processing" once the wire is detected, and then to "Funded" once confirmed.
Common Questions
What if I sent the wire to the wrong account? Contact our support team immediately. We will work with you and the receiving bank to attempt to recover the funds. Acting quickly is important.
What if I forgot to include the reference number? The platform will still attempt to match your wire based on amount and sending bank details. However, this may cause a delay. Contact support to let them know so they can match it manually.
Can I send an international wire? Yes, international wires are accepted. They may take longer and your bank may charge higher fees. Ensure the wire is sent in U.S. dollars (USD).
I sent my wire but my investment still shows "Awaiting Wire." How long should I wait? Domestic wires typically arrive within 1 to 2 business days. If your status has not updated after 3 business days, contact support with your wire confirmation details.
