Following Investors

How to follow other investors, what your network shows, and how follows relate to messaging

Following someone keeps them in your network. When you follow each other, you can also message them.

Follow and unfollow

On another investor's profile, use Follow to add them to your network. Use the same control to unfollow.

Your profile can show followers and following lists. You can hide those lists in profile settings if you prefer. Counts may still appear when lists are hidden.

What following does

  • Surfaces people in network and insights contexts
  • Feeds Your Network activity in the notification bell (new followers, notable activity from people you follow, and similar)
  • Unlocks messaging when the follow is mutual

Following a deal is different: that tracks a company round, not a person. See Following a Deal.

Referrals

When someone joins with your referral link, you both follow each other automatically. That means you can message without an extra follow step. See Referral Program.

Network emails

Network activity email is a weekly digest, not a ping for every follow. You can turn it off in notification preferences. Push for network activity is opt-in.

Common Questions

Does following commit me to anything? No. It is social only.

Will the other person be notified? Usually yes, once, when you follow them. Automatic follows from a referral do not send that notification.
